Lennaert van Veen's homepage

"Once there was a redheaded man without eyes and without ears. He had no hair either, so that he was a redhead was just something they said. He could not speak, for he had no mouth. He had no nose either. He didn't even have arms or legs. He had no stomach either, and he had no back, no spine and no intestines of any kind. He didn't have anything at all. So it is hard to tell whom we are really talking about. So it is probably best not to talk about him any more. "

My research is focused on the application of dynamical systems theory to complex phenomena and high-dimensional chaos. I am particularly interested in

My travel plans for the winter and spring include the general assembly of the EGU in Vienna, the SIAM meeting on applications of dynamical systems and a workshop on Trends in Bifurcation Analysis: Methods and Applications.
In Montreal, I organise the Friday seminar of the applied math lab of the CRM. The program is posted here and here.

This winter I will teach a grad course entitled "Projects in Dynamical Systems", crosslisted through the ISM. If you are interested, please have a look at the course outline.
These are quick links to my past projects, present projects and my publications.
The downloads are in PDF format. Please contact me if you would like to receive hard copies of the papers or my thesis.
